Scientists have found that while lying on your left side helps reduce heartburn while sleeping, lying on your right side can make you heartburn more. When lying to the left, the junction of the stomach and esophagus is located above the level of stomach acid. However, when lying on the right side, acid easily seeps out of the lower tracheal pectoral muscle.
